Steve Bannon drunk dials reporter for liberal rag to apparently slam his boss by mocking his chest thumping about North Korea and the constant infighting in the White House.

I know that some of this is going to read like an SNL skit gone bad but apparently Bannon called this reporter, Robert Kuttner, from the American Prospect right out of the blue.

This is a portion of what he had to say:

Contrary to Trump’s threat of fire and fury, Bannon said: “There’s no military solution [to North Korea’s nuclear threats], forget it. Until somebody solves the part of the equation that shows me that ten million people in Seoul don’t die in the first 30 minutes from conventional weapons, I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s no military solution here, they got us.”

Actually that's not really crazy, not even a little bit.

But then the topic turned to Gyna. (No I did not misspell China, that is how these idiots pronounce it.):

“To me,” Bannon said, “the economic war with China is everything. And we have to be maniacally focused on that. If we continue to lose it, we're five years away, I think, ten years at the most, of hitting an inflection point from which we'll never be able to recover.”

Bannon’s plan of attack includes: a complaint under Section 301 of the 1974 Trade Act against Chinese coercion of technology transfers from American corporations doing business there, and follow-up complaints against steel and aluminum dumping. “We’re going to run the tables on these guys. We’ve come to the conclusion that they’re in an economic war and they’re crushing us.”

But what about the folks in the State Department who are not on board with these aggressive tactics against Gyna?

Funny you should ask:

“Oh, they’re wetting themselves,” he said, explaining that the Section 301 complaint, which was put on hold when the war of threats with North Korea broke out, was shelved only temporarily, and will be revived in three weeks. As for other cabinet departments, Bannon has big plans to marginalize their influence.

“I’m changing out people at East Asian Defense; I’m getting hawks in. I’m getting Susan Thornton [acting head of East Asian and Pacific Affairs] out at State.”

But can Bannon really win that fight internally?

"That's a fight I fight every day here,” he said. “We’re still fighting. There’s Treasury and [National Economic Council chair] Gary Cohn and Goldman Sachs lobbying.”

“We gotta do this. The president’s default position is to do it, but the apparatus is going crazy. Don’t get me wrong. It’s like, every day.”

So much for Trump's assertion that everything is running smoothly in the White House.

And why is Bannon talking like HE'S the president? Wait, is HE the president?

To give Bannon a little credit he certainly came out harder against the protesters in Charlottesville than his boss ever did:

He dismissed the far right as irrelevant and sidestepped his own role in cultivating it: “Ethno-nationalism—it's losers. It's a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more.”

“These guys are a collection of clowns,” he added.

Cannot argue with that last part. But then Bannon switched gears and went after the Democrats:

“The Democrats,” he said, “the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”

That sounds a little more like the Steve Bannon that we know, and loathe.

Well this should make for some awkward cabinet meetings in the White House for the next couple of days.

And didn't Bannon just essentially out himself as a White House leaker?

When the Mooch called up a reporter and started talking smack he was out the door in less than 24 hours.

Let's see how much longer Bannon holds onto his job.

"No Robert E. Lee and George Washington are not in the same category. Go to Mt. Head to the monuments of the Confederacy and you will see only the exultations of those who sought to tear the United States asunder so they could keep in place a cruel bondage of their fellow human beings." all decent Americans should not only say that but act accordingly. The time for cheap words is over. The question is will Americans realize that a quick Twitter post won't do. Will theyh stand up? Will they speak openly and honestly? Will they name names?"

If you listen closely, off in the distance, you can hear the faint echos of floodgates beginning to open against Trump. The only reason why some Republicans are holding their tongues right now is that they want Trump to sign a massive tax cut package for the wealthy. Once the tax cut bill is passed and signed, congressional Republicans will have gotten what they wanted and they will be free to break with Trump.

Chances are it will be placed in front of "President Pence" for signature. And I'm sure he'll sign it. He is basically Trump without the crazy but a lot more puritanical religion.

“You have no idea what kind of evil stuff went on”

      AUGUST 17, 2017
I spoke to Lawrence Curtis, who lived in the Florida "party house" — a house with an infamous reputation for drugs and porn — previously occupied by Trump strategist Steve Bannon.
In March 2017, the Washington Post published a profile on Bannon that included some shocking details, including the bizarre case of 1794 Opechee Drive, the house in Miami that Bannon claimed as his residence, along with his third ex-wife.
The Miami-Dade Police Department’s public corruption unit launched an investigation into whether Bannon had fraudulently registered to vote in that county. Bannon had signed the lease, listed himself as an occupant, and paid the rent every month.

      Lawrence Curtis
1794 Opechee Drive: the house Steve Bannon rented in Florida.
One of Bannon’s colleagues, Arlene Delgado, testified that she had met with Bannon at the house on Opechee Drive, which he described as “my house,” where she saw “boxes, papers, and effects” that indicated he lived there. They met, according to Delgado, because Bannon had moved to Florida and wanted to increase the presence of the far-right Breitbart News, of which he was executive chair.
The meeting was corroborated by an email exchange between Bannon and Delgado.
Bannon’s ex-wife testified that he did indeed stay at the house with her, though she did not feel “comfortable” answering any further questions.
In the final report dismissing the investigation, law enforcement found “evidence that tends to indicate that [Bannon] did not intend to or actually did reside” in that county, but there was not sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Bannon had knowingly committed voter registration fraud.
The Washington Post focused primarily on the bizarre fact that Bannon listed the Opechee Drive house as his place of residence, despite living in California. The article lightly touched on the state of disrepair in which Bannon left the house — including a bathtub apparently destroyed by ACID.
" it had been a “party house,” she said, known for frequent drug use.
Carlos Herrera, who owned the house with with his wife, Andreina Morales, painted a picture of what initially seemed to be a normal tenancy but soon evolved into an almost daily parade of debauchery and drug use, including run-ins with the police.
“The conclusion is she was probably cooking meth in here,” Herrera said of Bannon’s ex-wife. That would have explained the damage done to the bathtub and kitchen sink
The surface of the bathtub in the master bathroom was partially melted from what appeared to be some form of chemical exposure.
Curtis heard the same stories of porn, drugs, and debauchery over and over again.
“Each person gave accounts that the house was used to film pornography, had a constant flow of men, women — and even children", he said, who was “a heavy set man,” offered him “girls for sex and/or drugs in lieu of payment,”
"In September 2016, upon returning from a filming in the South Pacific, Curtis came home to a pile of mail addressed to Steve Bannon and his ex-wife. Curtis would write “return to sender” on the mail, but “the flow of bills, notices from the city of Miami, and letters from the Bank of Ireland started piling up.”"“levels of meth and very high levels of cocaine.”

IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL PAYBACK?

WASHINGTON — Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, President Trump’s Supreme Court appointee, is scheduled to address a conservative group at the Trump International Hotel in Washington next month, less than two weeks before the court is set to hear arguments on Mr. Trump’s travel ban.

Stephen Gillers, an expert on legal ethics at New York University, questioned the justice’s decision to speak at the hotel, which is at issue in lower-court cases challenging the constitutionality of payments to Mr. Trump’s companies.

“We invited every single Republican senator on this program tonight — all 52,” Chuck Todd said on MSNBC's “MTP Daily” on Wednesday. “We asked roughly a dozen House Republicans, including a bunch of committee chairs, and we asked roughly a half dozen former Republican elected officials, and none of them agreed to discuss this issue with us today.”

That's about 70 rejections altogether, and other news anchors had the same experience on Wednesday — even on Fox News.

“Our booking team — and they're good — reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today,” Shepard Smith told his viewers. “Let's be honest: Republicans often don't really mind coming on Fox News Channel. 21. With the appointment of Hope to Communications Director Stephen Miller's days may be numbered. We know how Trump hates his people to be mocked and Miller has been fodder for comedians. Seth Meyer has been pretty cruel but so has Colbert. Undertaker may have been the most kind comparison. So he may be out.

Bannon may also be on the short list. Scaramucci has been gunning for him and continues to even after he lost his job. He's said it more than once on TV and we know how Trump assimilates what he hears on TV. This "interview" smacks of a desperate Steve Bannon.

Trump already didn't like SNL portraying Bannon as the angel of Death and in charge of the white house. ("I'm not a puppet, you're the puppet!") I'm sure he is also not a fan of the visuals that Bannon projects in the media. The guy looks like a walking petrie dish and Trump is a germaphobe.

There is also a feud between Bannon and McMasters. Trump does love him his generals. And with Kelly as chief of staff it may be that this time McMasters stays and Bannon is out.

That only leaves the Gorkas. Katherine's part in defunding Life After Hate after the Charlottesville terrorism isn't going to play well. So both of the Gorkas may be out.

Bannon can be replaced by Kushner. Are Miller and Gorka even needed?

Trump is closing his inner circle even tighter.

Schwarz is on the money I think. Depending on how fast Mueller works, Trump could be out by the end of the year. He will stay in as long as possible to move as much cash from the taxpayers into the Trump accounts, suck up that foreign cash and in general make money off of his position. Then at the last minute he'll cut a deal; his resignation for no prison time and he'll be gone.

We'll all heave a sigh of relief (until Pence's first executive order) but in the end Trump will have won. He got to be president. He made a boatload of cash. And he didn't go to prison.

    For him, that's a win.

    2. There are no legal statues to simply erase his presidency. Yes, Pence could replace all of his cabinet members and reverse his executive orders, but I doubt that is going to happen. There is no way to remove Neil Gorsucks from the Supreme Court even if Trump is removed. Congress approved his nomination. They won't reverse all of the deregulations and their "no backsides" rule won't allow them to be put back in place.

The entire thing is a giant clusterfuck.

Schwartz is right. He'll hang on as long as he can then he'll cut a deal to resign in return for no prison and immunity.

Trump is just staying on as long as he can because he is greedy. He wants to make as much money as he can before being forced out.

Plus, if he resigns, he wins because it was his decision. Just like disbanding those two CEO groups was his decision. In his own twisted, diseased, dysfunctional mind.

Is it ethical for any teacher to sleep with a student? Depends on if the teacher is in a position of power over that student. Sort of liek can two employees date - most company policy says yes, as long as one is not supervisory over the other, and if they are, it needs to be reported to the company that they are in a relationship. Often, the company will then cede disiplinary punishment or payroll rewards decision to someone else.

I'm offended that a liberal magazine was willing to talk to him. Bannon, Miller and Gorka are the alt-right in the White House! No honesty is going to come from any of them. All Bannon wanted to do was to sow more fake news to deflect our attention from the real issue: Trump and the GOP and their criminal Russian collusion.

"Two sentences really jump out to me: 1) "I play it very loose" and 2) "I prefer to come to work each day and just see what develops."
Those words weren't tucked somewhere in the middle of "Art of the Deal." They are in the second paragraph of the book that Trump has described as his second-favorite book ever. (No. 1, he says, is the Bible.) aka
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mein_Kampf

"rump just as likely sort of happened into his positioning in the race: as the anti-establishment, anti-political correctness, anti-polite figure that Republican voters were craving." A convincing case can be made that Trump's strategy, such as it exists, is to say provocative things -- and then react to the reaction to what he said. That there isn't any secret plan beyond being in the moment, dominating the news and making sure, no matter what, that people are talking about HIM."<THIS
"I can’t explain it any other way,” said an aide to a Republican member of Congress who has hesitantly backed Trump. “They don’t care that this thing is a mess, as long as people are paying attention to it.”"y early 2011, Trump was weighing whether to run for president in 2012—a longtime publicity ploy of his, dating back to 1987 when he was promoting The Art of the Deal—and here he opted to wade into the rightward fringe of “birther” conspiracy theorists. Trump’s six-week fixation on the zany wedge issue ultimately prompted an exasperated Obama to make public his “long-form” birth certificate to prove he in fact was born in Hawaii. Many considered it an unseemly distraction with upsetting racial overtones. With a certain portion of the populace, though, it upped Trump’s political profile."
"He has done it with such consistency that a lack of bad publicity weirdly would feel like a betrayal to his brand. Experienced, respected advertising and marketing professionals—including some who have worked for Trump—told me there’s never been anybody quite like him, this combination of arrogance, {UN}“intelligence, obstinacy and manifest incapacity for shame." "“I think it’s getting bad,” he said. “I think it’s getting worse and worse. I think it’s got to come to a point pretty damn soon where sooner or later he’s going to get nailed. If he doesn’t get nailed, maybe he wins this election. But I think the time of reckoning is coming. He’ll be a lo$er"
" “He’s obviously very, very, very skilled at managing the media,” he told me. “I think that has allowed him to say and do the things he’s done and get away with it.”'. “He really has defied this traditional model that you have to back up what you say with reality. It really is a new day in terms of publicity. In this new era, it’s gotten dangerous, where it’s really the case that ANY publicity is good publicity.”

No wonder Duh got out of the state. He was to be saving victims but he never did that, he was all bullchit and hype to look like he was a father to 2 kids that look nothing like him.

He couldn't expose the in-laws is more like why he dropped the sex trade crusade, trafficking.

Also Bristol wanted out of Alaska. You know there is a damn good reason, she would never leave Ma, to do nothing in Texas. I almost feel sorry for her with that crappy tea. The bigge$t faux celebrity loser on Instagram 4 money.

Is it true Duh took other lovers? The olde “What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.”

"“That fucking Steve Bannon taking credit for my election,” Trump lamented, according to a source who spoke with Carrasquillo."“The president is not happy with the Joshua Green book,” a source told BuzzFeed. “Every other page is a love letter to Steve Bannon.”“We’ll see what happens with Mr. Bannon,” Trump said. “He is a good person and I think the press treats him, frankly, very unfairly.”“At the end of the day if Bannon is fired, this Republican White House, which is supposed to be nationalist conservative, would be fully staffed by generals, Democrats, Clinton voters and the occasional Bush aide,” a Bannon ally said. “What is this, the Twilight Zone?” gOOd question?

WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange told a visiting congressman the secret-spilling site would like a seat at White House press briefings.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a California Republican, told the Washington Examiner he supports the primary source publisher's goal.

"It didn't sound unreasonable to me," he said in a phone call from London on Thursday, two days after what he said was a three-hour meeting with Assange in Ecuador's U.K. embassy.

"Obviously, he's at odds with people who want government not to be open to public scrutiny," he said. "This guy thinks of himself as a journalist or academic seeking out information."

Rohrabacher said Assange didn't go into detail about who the organization would send to cover daily briefings, but the notion he deserves a seat is likely to infuriate critics who have taken pains to exclude the site from respectability or proposed journalistic protections.

Unfortunately for WikiLeaks, which published leaked U.S. military and diplomatic documents before releasing hacked emails damaging to Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, it's unlikely that the 49 assigned seats in the Brady Press Briefing Room will change anytime soon.
