Two more passengers have jumped into the GOP Presidential clown car.

Yesterday we learned that Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina have decided to throw their hats into the 2016 ring.

Courtesy of USA Today:

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson told a Florida television station on Sunday that he is running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

"I'm willing to be part of the equation and, therefore, I'm announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America," Carson said in an interview with CBS affiliate WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Courtesy of CNN:

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina announced her candidacy for president on Monday, becoming the first declared female candidate to seek the Republican Party's nomination.

"Yes, I am running," Fiorina said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I think I'm the best person for the job because I understand how the economy actually works. I understand the world; who's in it."

The ex-Silicon Valley executive and long-shot White House contender has never held public office. In 2010, she unsuccessfully ran for Senate in California, losing to Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer.

In my opinion, and this is really saying something in a field that includes Ted Cruz, I think these are the two most pathetic GOP candidates so far.

The reason I say that is because I believe that the ONLY reason the Republicans want these two to run, and believe me they have no intention of letting them win, is race and gender.

Believe it or not conservatives see Carson as their version of Barack Obama, a smart black man.

And they see Fiorina as their answer to Hillary Clinton, a person with female plumbing. (Just like Sarah Palin was their answer to Hillary back in 2008.)

So essentially these two are camouflage and are being poorly used to cover for the conservative's innate racism and misogyny.

And the fact that they, on some level, realize this and are still willing to play their parts is, like I said, pathetic.

Oh Sarah, you aren't even an also-ran, you know-nothing-never-was-never-will-be bag of bones. Carly is now the third woman to have declared a run for President. You, you were only a coat-tail-clinger who sunk another guy's chances.

    Fiorina has a website! carlyfiorina.org

"The site also contains a couple of easter eggs; hidden in the source code is a “demon sheep” image, a reference to Fiorina’s bizarre 2010 attack ad against then-primary-opponent Ted Campbell that featured, well, a demonic sheep falling from a pedestal. That same joke plays out at http://carlyfiorina.org/bonus-page.html, which shows a sheep that turns red-eyed and spastic when you mouse over it."

  6. I am so tired of people who have never so much as been elected to a village council waking up one fine day and deciding to start at the top, with the presidency of a a heterogeneous, geographically vast country of more than 320,000,000 people!

For heaven's sake, show that you can get a traffic light for your little town and work with all factions to find a solution to the feud regarding one way vs two way traffic on Main Street.

Then think about running for a higher office, something thatwill give you some foreign policy experience, for instance.

Another thing that people like Carson, Cain, Fiorina, and others of their ilk can't grasp is that they work for us, the 320,000,000, not the other way around. Having the management mentality that goes along with being a CEO, brain surgeon, etc., is only useful in limited areas for a presidential candidate.

Useless megalomaniacs trashing our electoral system out of their own vanity. A pox on all of them.

Heard Peter Sagal today promoting his NPR show this weekend. He said: "Last week Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy, giving Democrats one viable Presidential candidate. A week later, Bernie Sanders announced, giving Democrats one viable candidate for President." I wanted him to add, "which is one more than the GOP will EVER have." Fiorina? Really? At least Romney actually ran successful companies before he sold them to China. He didn;t take a successful company and trash it and walk away a millionaire (he already was that anyway.) Carly, you will not relate well to that low-ed Southern voter who thinks women belong in the kitchen and bedroom, hon. And Ben? I think you ought to look at the voters in your party...very few of them look like you, and Democratic minorities will not buy your crap. So, have fun spending other people's money and looking foolish in interviews for the next few months. We'll see who's still standing in January. And by the way,Carly. You may know 'who's in the world,' but I doubt you have an iota of compassion for anyone not rich and white like you. Heck, you hated the people whose livelihood depended on you..what was that...30,000?

I never said they weren't allowed to be a part of, or run in the republican party. I said they were the party's tokens. Yes, the republican party uses women and minorities to garner votes, also to show the world that they are inclusive.

Yet their policies, actions, and words prove otherwise. I'm not saying the average republican voter is sexist or racist; they are just ignorant, but the party bigwigs are.

      Me sexist? Really?

That is really a fascinating explanation there Mildred. Plus doubling down on calling women and black people 'tokens' in the republican party.

So, by your way of thinking, black people and women cannot think for themselves about which party they should belong to for their own reasons and personal politics or values, they should just be and vote democrat correct? I guess you surmise they are not capable of thinking beyond what the democrats tell them to think Mildred? Boiled down, you infer the democrats 'own' the black and women vote Mildred? Is that correct? And yet you have the audacity to say the republican party uses black persons or women politicians to garner votes?

It doesn't sound as if you believe in or respect the individual intelligence of women or black persons to make their own choices.

Carly Fiorina’s campaign mocked after not securing domain name

A website attacking Carly Fiorina reinforced an important digital-age campaign lesson: Secure your domain names.

Carlyfiorina.org, a website that mocks the California Republican and former Hewlett-Packard CEO, begins with the line “Carly Fiorina failed to register this domain.”

The site continues, “So I’m using it to tell you how many people she laid off at Hewlett-Packard,” before 30,000 frowning faces, representing the 30,000 workers Fiorina allegedly laid off during her tenure at the helm of the technology company.

The bottom of the site features a quote from the 2016 GOP hopeful about how she would handle the layoffs if she could take charge anew: “I would have done them all faster.”

Carly Fiorina says environmentalists created California’s drought. Mike Huckabee’s urging would-be recruits to boycott the military until President Barack Obama leaves office. Ben Carson compared gay marriage to bestiality and pedophilia.

This week, they’re all going to become official candidates for president, and the fringes of the Republican field will get notably fringier.

Gryphen, thought you'd enjoy this smack down of Sarah Palin on a commentary about Carly Fiorina's entry into the race:

"What this really points out is the paucity of women in political office generally, from local to state to national. Were there a critical mass of qualified women pursuing the highest political offices, so that they were not novelties, Fiorina wouldn't be seen as a possible vice presidential nominee. But she's the only woman in the GOP field. And remember, in 2008 John McCain was so desperate to get a woman on the ballot, he tapped Sarah Palin."

A car is too small , it's a clown bus.
One thing Fiorina has going for her vs Palin is that she has an education , including two MBAs, one from MIT.
Fiorina also speaks in complete sentences and knows how to dress herself like an executive.
Which is an incredible contrast to Palin's typical street walker hoochy mama attire
Fiorina may not be presidential material , but, her entrance has certainly squashed the 2015 version of Palin's yearly tease of running for some office or another.
No way could Palin compete with or debate Fiorina.
Perhaps that was the purpose of Fiorina entering- to finally snuff out Palin's yearly nonsense.
Maybe we should look at Carly as finally doing what the RNC has been afraid of doing-double dog daring Palin to put up or shut up.
Forget Mayweather- Pacquiao-I might be willing to spring for pay per view to see Fiorino smack down Palin once and for all.

John McCain lost White House race because Sarah Palin didn't take MY advice on the economy, says Carly Fiorina – and she's still not even met me, reveals new Republican hopeful

"A surrogate for McCain in 2008 and a member of his inner circle, Fiorina claims in her memoir that two days before the Arizona senator made public his surprising pick for vice president, he called her on the phone and asked her to advise Palin.

'She's going to need help, Carly,' McCain said, according to Fiorina's recollection.

Fiorina says she was specifically tasked with loading Palin up with information on the subprime mortgage crisis and the implosion of Bear Sterns - which acted as a curtain-raiser on the 2008 meltdown in the markets which claimed Lehman Brothers."
